Bishop Thecal Mayers accepted the Lord at the age of eighteen and has been serving the Lord faithfully for the past fifty-five years. Bishop Mayers joined the Bible Way Church at Enterprise in 1977, where he and his wife, Elder Jeanette Mayers, served in both the Children and Youth Ministries. He was ordained a Minister and also assisted the Ministries at Todds Road and Wyaby.
From 1982 -1983 Bishop Mayers received several calls from the Lord through dreams and visions to return to Rio Claro and revamp old wells that were once productive and to release certain regions that were under demonic oppression. After a period of twenty-one days of prayer and fasting, on Saturday 28th January 1984, he was dispatched by the Lord to begin his mission at Rio Claro. By God’s grace, steadfast love and mercy and his obedience to the call, to date, Bishop Mayers has planted three churches. All honour and glory to God.
Bishop Mayers is an alumnus of Central Mission Bible School and Breakthrough School of Ministry. He studied Eschatology under Dr. Sherlock Bally and has been a participant at several prophetic conferences hosted by Dr. Bill Harmon. Bishop Mayers was made Presiding Bishop over the Trinidad and Tobago Diocese in 2019.
